From the door
The Wye runs past the front gate, and the canoe launch is just across the road.
Ten of the twelve bedrooms look over the water, so the river is the first thing most of the house sees in the morning.
A few minutes' walk brings you to the bank itself: benches on the riverside lawn, shallow gravel spits for paddling, deeper stretches where guests swim on hot weekends.
Canoes and paddleboards go in from the launch opposite the house; bikes can sit in the secure store between forest trails.

The walk from the house to Symonds Yat and back is the one guests recommend, with the Yat Rock viewpoint above the gorge.

Bring the rods
The Lodge sits on the banks of the lower Wye, with pike and carp water close by and an angling club in Lydbrook itself.
Dogs
Dogs are welcome here
River Wye Lodge is a pet friendly cottage, but please notify us if you are bringing them, so that we can make sure proper arrangements are made.
The riverside lawn and miles of bank-side path start at the gate, and the garden gives them space between walks.
