THE HOUSE'S STORY
Once home to the man who invented steel
Forest House was once the home of industrialist Robert Mushet, the inventor of steel. The blue plaque beside the front door marks it.
More recently it was run with love and care as a four-star hotel, and in July 2021 the ground floor was fully refurbished around a stunning new kitchen.
That hotel past is why the house hosts so well now: bedrooms with their own bathrooms, and a kitchen made to cater for a full party with ease.
