Fairlea Grange
An imposing Gothic townhouse, made for get-togethers
10 bedrooms sleeping up to twenty-four, five minutes' walk from Abergavenny station.
A holiday home with character
Old, quirky, and all yours
Fairlea Grange is a 10 bedroom house which comfortably sleeps 12 – 24 people, plus 2 cots for infants. Please bear in mind that Fairlea is an old quirky house with idiosyncratic features, and that's much of it's charm.
As a listed building there are severe limitations on what can be done to the property to bring it up to modern standards. You may find creaky floors, squeaky doors and some draughty windows.
However If you're looking for a holiday home with character the lounge has a great fireplace, complete with woodburner. The tall, bay windows illuminate the house whilst the staircase is imposing and grand and would make a great photograph!
Bedrooms are large and welcoming, family bathrooms are similarly spacious and there are wonderful views up to the Welsh mountains above the town.
Dogs, children and big groups welcome

Hot tub is always a winner. Walking part of the Monmouth to Brecon canal trail. Also various walks in the area such as Sugar Loaf. The 'Big Pit' was great for kids, free admission!
The house is such an adventure in itself, and very close to Abergavenny High St and lots of walking in the hills. More knobs on radiators for turning on/off would help, plus a tea-strainer. Days out: Sugar Load, Bloringe

We loved that we could all eat together and sit together in the large lounge. Days out: We didn't stay long enough to go anywhere other than the market and shopping
The house was clean and well equipped. Some of the showers were a bit hit and miss and the wifi only worked in one room. We had a great time, perfect property for a family get together.
We enjoyed the quirkiness of the house. Plenty of space for everyone to spread out. Easy to walk into town. Whilst accepting it is an old house the showers were problematic and some of the beds/mattresses could do with r…

We particularly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the house. The huge size of the house meant everyone had space to be alone or mix with family. It was brilliant and suited all ages.
